I was really excited last week about learning about imovie. I thought it was a lot of fun. I don't have a mac and i've never learned these things and i think that it would a very good skill to know. I was thinking that when i have my own P.E. class i could videotape some of my classes and take picture of my students. Then for maybe parent teacher conferences or maybe an end of the year party thing i could make an imovie of my students and what they have accomplished over the semester or year. I think it would be a great way to have fun and advocate for physical fitness!

Internet Safety

I have always wondered how they catch internet thieves and internet criminals. I have always thought that nothing is traceable on the internet. Even though internet crime is new, it is rapidly growing. I think that all kids and adults need to be aware of it and know what to look for in a website to see if it is legal or not. And for many of us it doesn’t just include legality but appropriateness. Are we looking at things that are appropriate? We may just be doing some research for something and we click on a site and it is definitely not what we were thinking the website would be. Hopefully, we, as adults, will know to leave the site right away. However, children do not have that automatic instinct.

I think that internet safety deals a lot with keeping children and youth safe. I think that parents at home need to secure their computers with passwords and blocks, in order to protect their children. Also, I don’t think any child should have a computer in their room for any reason. The computer needs to be in a common area where there are a lot of people. Prophets and apostles have warned us about these dangers over and over again and it is our responsibility to not allow inappropriate internet use in our homes.

I taught my sister about watching out for inappropriate pop-ups and sites and she said that that has happened before when looking up things on search-engines. She said that she is very careful when looking things up. At my house, at home my parents had a password and blocks on our TV and computer and our computer was in the middle of the kitchen. When I was in high school, I didn’t like this at all I thought I could handle the internet by myself. However, now that I am older I can understand the need for this security and how it protects my younger siblings.

Hey so I finally finished my website and I'm quite excited about it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. At first, i was struggling to do some of the technology skills but once i got the hang of it it was a lot of fun. I'm glad i have the ability to make a website for my future classes!!

Recently, I have found that being able to make a website can be very important in our society. Our society revolves around the internet and technology and if we, as P.E. teachers and advocates of physical activity, can get our message across on the internet then we have a better chance of having people actually looking and listening to our information. It is so easy to look over a website and click to links and I'm excited to have a website and the ability to make a website for my future students and their families. I want them to be able to find healthy recipes and work-out plans even if they do not have physical access to them at home. All they would have to do would be get on my website and click on a link. I think this website is a beginning to reducing obesity in our country.
